Voters will be heading to the polls to vote for a president in the Republic of Congo on Sunday but the outcome seems to be a foregone conclusion as the country's longtime leader Dennis Sassou N'Guesso faces little opposition in the political arena. The six opposition candidates have not mounted a significant challenge to the man who has ruled the oil-rich Central African country for a total of 42 years. The vote comes as the Republic of Congo is battling high debt and skyrocketing unemployment rates — like many nations on the continent where leaders are accused of using their office to enrich themselves and their cronies. Many young people say they see no reason to vote.
