Terre Haute Catholic high school closes after 16-year run
TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (AP) — Terre Haute's only Catholic high school has closed its doors after running out of funding.
John Paul II Catholic High School's board of governors voted to close it this week. The school opened in 2000.
Board President David Fuson says the school lost a key donor earlier this year and enrollment fell by half to just seven students. Fuson says the school didn't have enough support to keep going.
He says students will either transfer to other schools, be home schooled, or their families will examine other options.
