Tinder co-founder Sean Rad is CEO again after harassment scandal
Rad relinquished the CEO title and became company president in March after he was accused of sexual harassment and misogyny by female cofounder Whitney Wolfe.
Rad and cofounder Justin Mateen allegedly “subjected Ms. Wolfe to a barrage of horrendously sexist, racist, and otherwise inappropriate comments, emails and text messages,” according to a complaint filed in Los Angeles County Superior Court last summer.
Payne was hired to assert stronger leadership at Tinder in light of the sexual harassment scandal.
The announcement comes a day after Tinder unleashed an unhinged 30-tweet missive at journalist Nancy Jo Sales for a recent Vanity Fair piece examining the impact of the hookup culture on young adults who use apps like Tinder.
