Rapper ‘Pop Smoke’ killed in Calif. home invasion
California police are investigating the death of a popular rapper known as 'Pop Smoke.' Los Angeles authorities said 20-year-old Bashar Barakah Jackson was fatally shot at a Hollywood Hills home on Wednesday in what appeared to be an attempted home invasion.

California police are investigating the death of a popular rapper known as ‘Pop Smoke.’ Los Angeles authorities said 20-year-old Bashar Barakah Jackson was fatally shot at a Hollywood Hills home on Wednesday in what appeared to be an attempted home invasion.
Jackson released a new album and announced an upcoming tour in the weeks prior to his death.

Multiple men wearing ski masks reportedly broke into the residence and fired multiple gunshots before fleeing the scene.
“The radio call was called in by someone from back east, (who) stated a friend of theirs’ home was being broken into by multiple suspects and that one of them was armed with a handgun,” stated LAPD Captain Steve Lurie. “When officers arrived there approximately six minutes later, they discovered a victim inside the house had been shot.”

Police said they’re still searching for suspects and have yet to determine a motive for the attack.
