Honda Teases the All-New Amaze, Launch this month
Honda Cars India Ltd. has released a teaser image of the upcoming third-generation Honda Amaze, the latest iteration of its popular compact sedan. Designed to appeal to young buyers and modern families, the new Amaze aims to build on its reputation for reliability, comfort, and value, with updates to styling, technology, and features.
Amaze’ing Track Record?
Since its initial launch in 2013, the Honda Amaze has established itself as a trusted choice in India’s entry sedan segment. The second-generation model, released in 2018, brought with it a more premium look and feel, attracting a diverse base of customers. The third generation is expected to continue this evolution, emphasizing a bold new design and advanced technology.
Official Statement
In a statement about the teaser release, Takuya Tsumura, President & CEO of Honda Cars India Ltd., highlighted the Amaze’s importance to the brand and its customers. “The Honda Amaze has always been a special product for us and our customers in India. As a pioneer in premium styling for entry sedans, the Honda Amaze has always set the standard for design and sophistication in its segment. With the 3rd generation, we are excited to take this to the next level, offering our modern Indian customers an enhanced premium package like never before,” said Tsumura.
New Design and Features
The teaser image reveals a bold front fascia, showcasing sleek LED headlights with a twin cuboidal design and a chrome strip spanning the grille. Drawing design inspiration from the Honda City, the Amaze aims for a more refined and upscale appearance. The new model is expected to stay under 4 meters in length.
The new Amaze is anticipated to bring various upgrades, including a redesigned dashboard with enhanced features and technology, such as a 9-inch infotainment system with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, automatic climate control, electric ORVMs, a semi-digital driver’s display, automatic IRVM, cruise control, a wireless phone charger, and keyless entry. Safety features are also likely to be improved, with the top variant expected to include six airbags, ABS with EBD, electronic stability control, hill hold assist, rear parking camera with sensors, and ISOFIX mounts.
Powertrain
The new Honda Amaze is expected to retain the reliable 1.5-liter i-VTEC petrol engine, a naturally aspirated unit known for its balance of performance and fuel efficiency. This engine, which has been a staple in Honda’s lineup, is anticipated to deliver 119 PS of power and 145 Nm of torque, catering well to both city driving and occasional highway use. In terms of transmission options, Honda is likely to offer a 5-speed manual for those who prefer direct control, along with either an AMT or CVT automatic option for a more relaxed driving experience.
The new Amaze is set to be launched later this month after the Dzire is launched. It will go up against the new and upcoming Maruti Suzuki Dzire, the Hyundai Aura, and the Tata Tigor.
