Get Prince Harry’s Spare audiobook for free with this easy Amazon tip

The Duke of Sussex narrates it himself.

Prince Harry’s long-awaited memoir, Spare, comes out today (January 10).

The 416-page book, published by an imprint of Penguin Random House, has been in the headlines for days – so you might feel like you’ve already read a lot of it.

Plenty of bombshells have dropped pre-release, including The Duke of Sussex, 38, claiming that his brother Prince William, 40, attacked him in a 2019 row at Nottingham Cottage.

The book’s also got its fair share of, er, slightly wackier reveals – such as the name King Charles supposedly wanted Harry to have, and an account of the Duke’s frostbitten ‘todger’ after an Antarctic charity trek.

The former working royal even revealed an unexpected fondness for TK Maxx.

Harry has also opened up about his life, and the trauma of losing his mother Princess Diana, further still in a number of promotional TV interviews, including sit downs with ITV journalist Tom Bradby and CBS 60 Minutes host Anderson Cooper.

If you’re keen to read Spare, it’s now available from many major booksellers for £14 – half the original RRP of £28 – such as Amazon, Waterstones and WHSmith.

However, there is a way to get the royal autobiography completely for free as an audiobook.

Once you’ve signed up for the trial, you’ll have the option to listen to a book for free – and Spare, despite just being released, is among the options to choose from.

Narrated by Prince Harry himself, the audiobook running time lasts for 15 hours, 37 minutes.

Once your trial ends, Audible automatically renews to a paid membership at £7.99 per month, so you’ll need to cancel in advance if you decide not to keep the service.

Though if you do keep Audible, there are plenty more royal books to listen to – from Andrew Morton-penned biographies The Queen and Diana: Her True Story, to Tom Bower’s Revenge and Tina Brown’s The Palace Papers, among others.

Interestingly, you can find another Duke’s autobiography on Audible – albeit a slightly less explosive one.

A Royal Life, written by The Duke of Kent and Hugo Vickers, covers the life story of the 87-year-old Duke – also known as Prince Edward – who was first cousins with the late Queen Elizabeth II.
