‘Nuisance dog owner killed post woman for not bringing him Donald Trump coronavirus money’
Tony Cushingberry allegedly killed Angela Summers for failing to bring him the emergency stimulus check green-lighted by President Trump
A nuisance dog owner shot a post woman dead for failing to bring him a coronavirus stimulus check, police say. Tony Cushingberry, 21, reportedly killed Angela Summers, 45, in Indianapolis on April 12 after mail carriers stopped visiting his home because of his aggressive pet.
National Association of Letter Carriers union boss Paul Toms said Summers’ murder happened after Cushingberry did not receive the payment of up to $1,200 designed to help Americans pay bills during the ongoing pandemic. He said Toms had received a curtailment of mail notice – meaning the United States Postal Service would no longer deliver to his address – after ignoring messages left by Summers asking him to curtail a small pet dog who had attacked her.
Last Saturday – two days before she was killed – Summers reportedly posted on Facebook that she had a stimulus check for someone living at Cushingberry’s address, but her concerns over her personal safety meant she was unable to deliver it.
Toms told Fox59: ‘The mail had been curtailed from what I was told very recently. On April 12 or 13, the curtailment of mail letter was sent to them. Yes, there was a history on this for quite a while, as I understand it.

‘Dog letters had been sent. That’s a form to the patron when a dog is a nuisance or a danger or vicious. Three dog letters, one to warn them, a second one a second warning, and then a curtailment of mail. That’s what they had proceeded to there.’
Charges are still pending against Cushingberry, although he is likely to face an allegation of murder. The suspected killer allegedly told police that he only meant to scare Summers, and that he did not mean to kill her.
