Melania Trump celebrates 50th birthday in White House amid coronavirus lockdown
The first lady spent her birthday with family at the nation's capital on Sunday, White House chief of staff Stephanie Grisham said.
Melanie Trump celebrated her 50th birthday in the White House as the country remains in lockdown because of the coronavirus outbreak.

Donald Trump tweeted a Happy Birthday message to his wife on Sunday, writing: ‘Happy Birthday to Melania, our great First Lady!’
The official White House Twitter account also tweeted a congratulatory message to the First Lady with pictures of her travels in her initiatives to support young girls and women in the military.
Ms Trump was born on April 26, 1970 in the former Yugoslavia, which is now Slovenia. She married Donald Trump in 2005 after moving to the US in 1996 for her modeling career. A year after they married, the Trumps had their son, Barren.
She later told Parenting that she considered looking after her teenage son to be her ‘first job.’
In her time as the first lady, Melania championed her ‘Be Best’ campaign aimed, at the American youth, to fight cyberbullying and drug use.
Since the lockdown began, Melania has remained largely out of the public eye, although she has been active on social media platforms to address the nation and encourage Americans to follow stay-at-home orders.
‘Our thoughts & prayers continue to be w/ each person suffering & fighting to recover from this terrible virus, & with all of the families who have lost loved ones. Even though we are physically apart, we are all in this fight together,’ Ms Trump wrote Friday.
On Wednesday, Melania tweeted: ‘Even during tough times, the outdoors provide a place of refuge & calm. Take time to appreciate the beauty of nature today while practicing social distancing & be sure to cover your face.’
The first lady was seen in her first public outing this month on Earth Day when she joined her husband, Vice President Mike Pence and his wife Karen Pence at the annual tree planting ceremony at the White House.
