President of Iran to visit Armenia in December
“Armenia and Iran have undertaken recently a number of important steps, which need to be fixed at the highest level. Iranian President’s visit, set for December, is also aimed at outlining the further development of bilateral relations,” Vardan Voskanyan told media.
According to him, the biggest achievements of Armenian-Iranian relations have been recently registered in economy sector.
“In this context Iran attaches importance to Armenia’s role, which can link the Persian Gulf to the Black Sea,” the iranologist remarked.
To the question whether Iranian-Azerbaijani relations may hinder the establishment of Armenian-Iranian ties, Vardan Voskanyan answered:
“Iran definitely views Armenia as a close ally, so we should not pay attention to Iranian-Azerbaijani relations while defining our agenda; we should only follow their development instead.”
