UN Secretary General plans to visit Azerbaijan, Armenia and Georgia
Yerevan /Mediamax/. UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon plans to visit Azerbaijan, Armenia and Georgia at the end of April with an official visit, TASS states quoting its source in UN Secretariat,.
“I cannot give the exact dates, but the trip will take place shortly after the signing ceremony of Paris climate agreement on April 22”, the source said.
The official representative of the UN Secretary General Stefan Dyuzharrik neither confirmed nor denied the information about the upcoming visit. “We cannot confirm this, but I hope that soon we will have something to say on this matter”, he told TASS.
Ban Ki-moon visited Georgia in June 2007, making a brief stop in Tbilisi on the way from Afghanistan to Europe. According to the website of the Office of the Secretary General, since Ban Ki-moon took office as head of the UN administration in 2007, he has never visited Azerbaijan and Armenia.
