Armenia and Georgia foresee a stable and peaceful future for Caucuses
The Minister said it after a meeting with delegation headed by Georgian Defense Minister Tinatin Khidasheli.
Seyran Ohanyan stated that the sides discussed regional security issues and both consider political negotiations, dialogue and confidence building measures as the bases of their solution.
“Our countries have different security systems: we are a CSTO member, while Georgia aspires to join NATO, but it does not hurt the opportunity we can take to form peace and security in the region”, said Seyran Ohanyan.
The Minister stressed exchange of experience, peacekeeping, military planning and military education as priority spheres of bilateral cooperation. Tinatin Khidasheli particularly mentioned that Georgian military training centers are open to Armenia.
“Armenian and Georgian soldiers are currently serving in Afghanistan for the sake of general peace and stability. My colleague just mentioned correctly that we see ourselves as parts of different military-political organizations , but I 'm here to talk about the issues that unite us”, said Georgian Defense Minister.
