Turkey plays an important role for us, Georgian DM says in Yerevan
“We have a NATO member neighboring country like Turkey. We are grateful to Turkey for its support and the initiatives in both NATO ministerial and other platforms, as well as more targeted assistance”, said Tinatin Khidasheli.
She didn’t respond to the question about the growing tension in the region connected with Russia-Turkey relations: Armenian Defense Minister Seyran Ohanyan, however, said on the subject:
“All the issues in the region should be resolved through cooperation and regional integration. We must do everything to support the solutions of existing problems”.
The Georgian minister also refused to comment on Georgian delegation stance in PACE during the discussion of resolutions on Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, noting that she is no longer a member of parliament.
“In my experience, if you look at Georgia-Armenia PACE voting statistics, I don’t think that the delegations would be content with one another. Politics is such a thing”, concluded Tinatin Khidasheli.
