PACE adopts resolution on Sarsang Reservoir
98 MPs voted “for” and 71 voted “against” “Inhabitants of Frontier Regions of Azerbaijan are Deliberately Deprived of Water” report resolution authored by Milica Markovic from Bosnia and Herzegovina.
While drafting the report, Milica Markovic twice visited Azerbaijan without visiting NK despite the NK authorities’ written proposal. As a result, the reporter drafted a report on a reservoir she never saw.
While presenting the report at the PACE plenary session, Milica Markovic noted that the report pursued “exclusively humanitarian goals”.
At the session, member of the Armenian Delegation to the PACE Armen Rustamyan noted that the report couldn’t be object and be adopted as the author hadn’t visited the Sarsang Reservoir. Armen Rustamyan proposed to send the report back to the PACE Social Affairs Committee for further amendments but the PACE members turned down proposal.
Earlier today, the PACE didn’t adopt British MP Robert Walter’s “Escalation of Violence in Nagorno-Karabakh and Other Occupied Territories of Azerbaijan” report resolution.
