Over 73,000 kids vaccinated vs Covid-19 in Las Pinas
A total of 73,326 children aged five to 17 years old were vaccinated against Covid-19 in Las Pinas City, Mayor Imelda Aguilar said Tuesday, March 7.
During the series of Covid-19 vaccinations for the 12-17 age group, 58,203 minors received the first dose and 51,708 got the second dose of the vaccine.
Under the vaccination program for children aged 5 to 11, a total of 15,123 kids received their first dose and 6,625 were fully vaccinated.
Meanwhile, City Health Office (CHO) officer-in-charge Dr. Julie Gonzalez urged the fully vaccinated residents to get the booster shot as it gives them more protection against Covid-19.
Gonzalez said the CHO has already administered at total of 585,882 vaccines as first dose and 560, 876 as second dose to city residents.
She said they have administered a total of 182,678 booster shots.
To encourage more residents to receive their booster shots, the city launched the “Bayanihan sa Bakunahan” on March 2. It will be conducted in the city’s 20 barangays for the whole month of March.
She said vaccination teams will also conduct a house-to-house vaccination for senior citizens and persons with disabilities (PWDs).
