Nasdaq names Adena Friedman president and CEO
Nasdaq Inc. [S: NDAQ] on Monday named Adena Friedman president and chief executive officer, effective Jan. 1, 2017. Friedman currently serves as the chief operating officer of the exchange company, and was previously chief financial officer. Friedman will replace Bob Greifeld as CEO. Greifeld is becoming the company's chairman, replacing Borje Ekholm, who is stepping down, although he will remain on the company's board. Shares of Nasdaq are up 11.3% thus far in 2016.
