Severe flooding in Vietnam's Lai Chau Province has triggered landslides which have left roads damaged. Prolonged rain caused floodwater to rise more than 1 metre leading to 1,004 houses being damaged. According to reports, seven people have died, one is missing and four have been injured. This footage was filmed on August 19.

As coronavirus cases in Greece continue to climb, the government has imposed stricter lockdown restrictions on the northern region of Halkidiki and the island of Mykonos. Footage from Friday (August 21) shows quiet tourist resorts and almost empty beaches. Stricter measures include both tourists and locals required to wear face masks, even at the beach, the suspension of all events, and the prohibition of any gathering above nine. Residents were baffled when they woke up to foul smells coming from the river and discovered giant foam formations on its banks. Jolina Barrias said there was a stench in Tuy town, Batangas the Philippines so they went to check on the river on Wednesday (August 19) morning. She said: "The smell was strong and gives us a headache when we inhaled so we went to have a look." Flash floods hit northern Thailand today (August 21) as tropical storm Higos brought heavy rain to the region. Footage shows how roads in Nan province were submerged after rivers and canals overflowed. The water was 30cm deep in some places. The Meteorological Department announced increased rainfall between 20-23 August, with seventy percent precipitation in the Northern regions caused by the Typhoon Higos in South China sea. This is the terrifying moment a three-storey apartment block collapsed due to subsidence. The building's foundations suddenly gave way while more than 60 residents were inside on Wednesday evening (Aug 19). A massive landslide hit a city in southern China's Hanyuan County on August 21, killing at least six people. The aftermath video shows the houses buried under mud tumbling down from a nearby hill, while firefighters were seen doing rescue work on-site. According to reports, eight houses were damaged seriously and nine people were buried. Seven people have been found but six of them were dead already and one suffered serious injuries.

A fire broke outside Saint-Lazare train station in Paris on Friday (August 21). Footage shows firefighters putting out the fire. Several metro lines have been disrupted.

A small group of advocates for Alexei Navalny congregated in St. Petersburg on Thursday (August 20) to show support. Tourists and locals flock to a unique man-made surfing spot in the Eisbach river, central Munich. A crowd watches on as surfers take turns riding the 1-metre-high wave created by water rapidly flowing through a bridge. Authorities wished to remove the man-made wave due to safety concerns created by the strong current, but a group of surfers and locals campaigned against the move and surfing in the Eisbach became officially permitted in 2010. This footage was filmed on August 12.

Protesters gathered outside a factory in Minsk, Belarus, on Thursday (Aug 20). The opposition demonstrators waving white and red flags were encouraging workers to strike and increase pressure on President Alexander Lukashenko. However, despite unrest and daily protests following controversial elections on August 9, defections of security forces or government workers have so far not materialised. Protesters now fear they are losing momentum as the government looks to quell the unrest.

Fire department officials in south India's Tamil Nadu rescued a stray dog that had fallen into a well after a two-hour struggle. The incident took place in Erode district's Anthiyur on August 19 morning. Footage show one of the firefighters being lowered into the well using thick ropes. A wild deer was captured fleeing flames and nearly crashing into the vehicle of a photographer, driving through the heart of the Gamble Fire, which has burnt over 1,000 acres in California's Napa County.
