Main Highway in Breaux Bridge back open after tree cleared from roadway
The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development announces that effective immediately, La. 31 (Main Highway) in Breaux Bridge, from Noel Lane to Frederick Road, is closed to traffic.
UPDATE, 5/21/24, 1:30 p.m.: DOTD announced La. 31 (Main Highway) is now open to traffic.
ORIGINAL STORY: BREAUX BRIDGE, La. (KLFY) -- The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development announces that effective immediately, La. 31 (Main Highway) in Breaux Bridge, from Noel Lane to Frederick Road, is closed to traffic.
The closure as a result of a fallen tree and downed power lines blocking the road, officials said. The detours for this closure include the following: La. 31 to Poche Bridge Highway to Anse Broussard Highway (La. 328) La. 31 to La. 355 to La. 347 to Anse Broussard Highway (La. 328).
Motorists are encouraged to use an alternate route.
