Paul Breaux Middle School Girls' Treble Choir awarded in Atlanta
The Paul Breaux Middle School Girls' Treble Choir received honors while performing in Atlanta.
LAFAYETTE, La. (KLFY) -- The Paul Breaux Middle School Girls' Treble Choir received honors while performing in Atlanta.
On Friday, the choir participated in the 2024 WorldStrides Atlanta Heritage Festival at North Atlanta High School. At the festival they performed "Now is the Month of Maying" composed by Thomas Morley (1557-1603), “Sing a Song of Sixpence” composed by Fiona Lander (b. 1971) and “Jordan’s Angels” composed by Dr. Rollo Dilworth (b. 1970).
The choir earned a composite score of 93.3 out of 100 for their performance and was awarded the prestigious gold award of the highest distinction. In addition to this award, they also received the special WorldStrides gold invitation to perform in San Francisco, Chicago, or Nashville in 2025, due to scoring in the ninetieth percentile.
The Paul Breaux Middle School Girls' Treble choir is under the direction of Dr. Rendell James, and accompanied on piano by Mr. David Boudreaux.
