Maximum day temperature was recorded at 141 degrees Celsius, 56 degrees less than normal, on Saturday. A day before, maximum temperature was recorded at 136 degrees Celsius. This was the lowest minimum day temperature in the city in the ongoing winter. Night temperature was recorded at 59 degrees Celsius, 02 degrees below normal, and 12 degrees less than a day before. On December 18, Ludhiana recorded the lowest night temperature during the ongoing winter at 38 degrees Celsius with the city enveloped by fog. Visibility was recorded at 150 meters at 830am on Saturday which improved to 300 meters by 1130am and 2000 meters at 230pm when there was haze in the city. The meteorological department has warned of dense fog and cold wave on Sunday and Monday. Residents continue to battle the cold wave prevailing in the city.
