Virat Kohli Should be Reappointed as RCB Captain in IPL 2024, Here’s WHY!
With six more games to go, RCB need to win all of them and yet they are not guaranteed of a playoff berth.
Kolkata: It was a night to forget for the Royal Challengers Bengaluru at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata. Despite having come so close to a win, they fell a solitary run short of the target. Following the seventh loss of the season in just the eighth match, RCB seem to have been knocked out of the playoff race. With six more games to go, RCB need to win all of them and yet they are not guaranteed of a playoff berth. With RCB in such a precarious state, why not reappoint Virat Kohli as the captain for the remainder of the season? Could we see Kohli lead RCB in their next game against SRH on April 25?
Kohli is the Orange Cap holder currently which means, he, as an individual is high on confidence. He could ensure that rubs off on the team. He has prior experience of leading the RCB unit and hence he could slip into the role again. With six more games left, RCB could seriously start experimenting for the next season trying to get the best combination in place.
On Sunday, Kohli’s dismissal stirred a massive controversy. While most felt, it was above the waist and should have been a no-ball, the rule stated otherwise and Kohli was dismissed for 17 off eight balls.
Kohli has been part of the RCB franchise since it’s inception and no one knows the DNA of the side more than him and hence he is the ideal candidate to take over the captaincy mantle for RCB.
