And of course, multiple rumours are doing the rounds. There are whispers that suggest that former MI captain Rohit Sharma may be lapped up by SRH owner Kaviya Maran. The rumours suggest that the SRH owner is set to give a blank cheque to Rohit. But again, the reality is – it cannot be confirmed as there is nothing official on it. Meanwhile, a report on News24 suggests that Rohit is ‘unhappy’ with how he has been treated in the MI captaincy saga. The report goes on to hint that the dressing-room environment is not good. The development has been confirmed to News 24 by a player of the franchise.
Given his experience at the IPL, he could shatter many records if he enters the auction.
The MI side have played three matches thus far and lost all three. There are also whispers that Rohit could be handed over captaincy mid-season if MI’s poor run continues.
