Country music in the Raptors locker room. Haven’t heard that before in the NBA. The Bruce Brown influence! Brown told me he’s really happy to have the deadline over with and to remain a Raptor. – 10:36 PM
Michael Grange @michaelgrange
“I felt that there should be a little bit of respect level for him to give him a couple more calls,” — Rajakovic (in a gentle Serbian way) saying that Scottie Barnes deserved a few more fouled calls down the stretch. pic.twitter.com/Q4aZGVXeAj10:17 PM
David Hardisty @clutchfans
Ime Udoka, who benched Jalen Green and Alperen Sengun for the fourth, praised the bench unit for getting the #Rockets back into the game and said they “deserved to be in.”
“We need to have that urgency from the start … from everybody. It’s Game 51. We have to see some growth… – 10:12 PM
Adam Spolane @AdamSpolane
Rockets now have a 3 hour flight to Atlanta and then they have to get 30+ people through customs, though the last time I flew back from Canada I went through customs before taking off. Still, this is a rough back-to-back – 10:08 PM

22 minutes, 40 seconds is the 4th lowest minutes total for Jalen Green this season – 10:02 PM
Josh Lewenberg @JLew1050
Raptors have won 2 games in a row for the 1st time in more than a month. They’ll have a shot at their 1st 3-gm win streak of the season tomorrow. All they have to do is beat the NBA’s hottest team (Cavs, who have won 16 of 17) on 2nd night of a b2b. They should have Olynyk/Agbaji – 10:02 PM
Josh Lewenberg @JLew1050
For the 3rd time in about 10 days, the Raptors have trouble closing a game – the hallmark of a young team. This time they pull it out, but just barely. Dillon Brooks and the Rockets cut the lead, once 22, down to 1 with 19s left, but Barrett hit a pair of FTs and Raps hold on D – 10:02 PM
Adam Spolane @AdamSpolane
Rockets probably should’ve just taken the 2 during that last possession and extend the game a little longer – 10:01 PM
StatMuse @statmuse
Jakob Poeltl tonight:
16 PTS
12 REB
6 BLK (ties career-high)

‘Topes win. Jeff Green misses a double pump at the buzzer. Good defence. 107-104.
25 for Quickley, 13-10-8 for Barnes, 16 and 12 for The Big Puzzle.

The Raptors have won two basketball games in a row. – 10:00 PM
Ryan Wolstat @WolstatSun
This game is zany.
I would have fouled early and made them hit free throws, but what do I know. Now Houston gets another chance. – 9:59 PM
Eric Koreen @ekoreen
Rockets miss a 3, but get offensive rebound and Udoka alertly calls timeout. 2.2 left for the Rockets to try to tie this game and a fan to be hit by a flying laptop. – 9:59 PM
Law Murray @LawMurrayTheNU
what are the Raptors DOING – 9:58 PM
Jonathan Feigen @Jonathan_Feigen
Aaron Holiday misses a 3 to tie. Thompson got the rebound. Rockets time out with 2.2 left. – 9:58 PM

A Dillon Brooks deep 3, Raptors up 1, 18.9 left and RJ at the line – 9:57 PM
Jonathan Feigen @Jonathan_Feigen
Dillon Brooks 3 with 23 seconds left. Rockets sending R.J. Barrett to the line with Toronto up one. – 9:57 PM
Eric Koreen @ekoreen
Brooks hits a bomb of a 3, and it’s 105-104 Raptors. RJ shooting two with 18.9 left. – 9:57 PM
Jonathan Feigen @Jonathan_Feigen
Call stands. Rockets ball, down four, with 26.1 left. – 9:56 PM
Vivek Jacob @vivekmjacob
Well at least it took away a guaranteed 2 from the Rockets – 9:53 PM
Jonathan Feigen @Jonathan_Feigen
Jeff Green comes up short on a wide-open 3. Ball called out of bounds off Barnes. Raptors challenge. – 9:53 PM
Doug Smith @SmithRaps
Rockets, down 4 with 29.6 seconds left, win a challenge to negate a foul and keep the ball. Here we go – 9:53 PM
Eric Koreen @ekoreen
Don’t forget: When the Raptors get bad, inbound horror returns. (Although I recall some in Game 6 of The Finals, too.) – 9:52 PM
Eric Koreen @ekoreen
Rockets cut lead to 4, foul Barnes, but that call is being challenged. I would imagine if the Rockets win it will be a jump ball instead of Rockets ball. – 9:51 PM
Jonathan Feigen @Jonathan_Feigen
After an Aaron Holiday drive, pulling the Rockets to within four, he was called for a foul on a steal with 29 seconds left. Rockets challenging the call. – 9:51 PM
Doug Smith @SmithRaps
Raptors up 6. 35 seconds left and they might be a fun — and at times infuriating — group to watch – 9:50 PM
Ryan Wolstat @WolstatSun
Scottie Barnes with one of the best 4-for-16 games you’ll ever see. Basically saved the game with a near tip dunk that eventually ended up being corralled by Poeltl. Has 10 rebounds eight assists, 2 blocks (and a couple more that were just after the whistle), 2 steals. – 9:49 PM
Adam Spolane @AdamSpolane
Rockets have 22 turnovers and have allowed 17 offensive rebounds – 9:48 PM
Josh Lewenberg @JLew1050
Dillon Brooks has scored 8 of his 17 points in the 4th quarter, and the Raptors’ lead (once 22) is down to 5 inside the final minute of the game. Still his house, apparently. – 9:47 PM

Cheers for Dillon Brooks in honor of his play for Team Canada. – 9:39 PM
Adam Spolane @AdamSpolane
Sengun is at 21 minutes, his season-low is 24 – 9:38 PM
Jonathan Feigen @Jonathan_Feigen
Offensive basket interference called on Jabari Smith Jr.. Would have cut Raptors lead to seven. Many Rockets checking out the iPad during the time out, but no way they can challenge. – 9:37 PM
Ryan Wolstat @WolstatSun
The old timey Rockets (Jeff Green and Reggie Bullock) won’t let them go down easy.
Immanuel Quickley has been outstanding for the Raptors, Barrett and Poeltl solid. Barnes can’t hit a shot but is doing everything else. “Jack of all trades” is what Kelly Olynyk called him. – 9:35 PM
Adam Spolane @AdamSpolane
Udoka bench Sengun and Jalen Green? – 9:35 PM
Jonathan Feigen @Jonathan_Feigen
Jabari Smith Jr. still the only Rockets starter in double figures with 10. But he does have 11 rebounds, including a career-high 7 offensive boards. – 9:34 PM
Jonathan Feigen @Jonathan_Feigen
Rockets on an 8-0 run with a bucket from Jeff Green before 3s from Bullock and Smith. Down 11, as close as they have been in the second half. – 9:27 PM

Don’t think, as one smart aleck here said, it was because of an Ime Udoka death stare – 9:03 PM
Jonathan Feigen @Jonathan_Feigen
Raptors lead up to 22. Officials down to two. It seems Courtney Kirkland is out. – 8:58 PM
Vivek Jacob @vivekmjacob
Quickley got the whole bag going tonight – 8:57 PM
Jonathan Feigen @Jonathan_Feigen
Cam Whitmore checking in less than three minutes into the second half. Replaces Jabari Smith Jr. – 8:57 PM
Ryan Wolstat @WolstatSun
Kelly Olynyk literally grew up with the Raptors. His mom was a scorekeeper for 10 years for them, his dad was a guest coach under Lenny Wilkens one year. He’s ecstatic to be home and a Raptor: torontosun.com/sports/basketb… pic.twitter.com/aUXehBWpgG8:50 PM
Jonathan Feigen @Jonathan_Feigen
Raptors 61, Rockets 49 at half. Rockets starters, save Smith who played with the reserves, were outscored by between 16 and 21 points each. Whitmore with 17. Had a season high 25 against the Raptors last week. Rockets with 12 turnovers. – 8:40 PM
Ryan Wolstat @WolstatSun
Raptors got embarrassed in Houston a week ago. Different story tonight so far. Up 61-49 at the half. Gary Trent Jr. four steals, 8 points. Quickley 15, Barett 12, BRown 11. Cam Whitmore 17 off Rockets bench. – 8:38 PM
Michael Grange @michaelgrange
61-49 Raptors at half time. Quickly with 15, Barrett with 12 points and four assists, Barnes with four points, four rebounds and six assists. Bruce Brown with 11 off the bench. Cam Whitmore with 17 for Houston. – 8:38 PM
Josh Lewenberg @JLew1050
The former Knicks, Quickley and Barrett, in the 1st half: 27 points, 10-16 FG, 4-9 3P.
Still-a-Raptor Bruce Brown has 11 off the bench, and Toronto has scored 18 points off 12 Houston turnovers. Good half. Raps lead by 12. – 8:38 PM
Jonathan Feigen @Jonathan_Feigen
Rockets all over the officials about a no call at the end of the half. Tate got knocked to the floor before a Barnes rebound and put-back. Udoka incensed. – 8:37 PM
Eric Koreen @ekoreen
Raps lead 61-49 after Jak gets away with a loose ball foul, leading to a Scottie putback. 15 for Quickley, 12 for RJ, 11 for Brown, 17 for Whitemore. – 8:36 PM

Rockets second unit — Holiday, Whitmore, Green and Tate, with Smith — on an 11-0 run, cut a 14-point lead to 6-33 in just 78 seconds. Whitmore with 10 points in seven minutes. – 8:15 PM
Michael Grange @michaelgrange
Impressive 1Q from Raptors who are up 34-20 on Fred VanVleet-less Rockets. Quickley leads with nine points. Raptors have 10 assists already. – 8:08 PM
Jonathan Feigen @Jonathan_Feigen
Raptors 34, Rockets 20 after 1. Not sure what was worst for the Rockets. Probably the turnovers (8.) But could be the defense. (Raptors 12 of 17 inside the 3-point line.) Maybe the 3-point shooting (0 for 5.) Or passing (3 assists.) Not a good quarter. – 8:08 PM
Doug Smith @SmithRaps
Raptors up 34-20 after a quarter, Quickley’s got 9 and Toronto has 10 assists on 14 baskets. – 8:08 PM

The Rockets with a very unVanVleetian 1-to-5 assist-to-turnover ratio. – 7:58 PM

I’m really starting to feel like the Spurs are going to get a No. 7 overall pick out of a top-6 protection from the Raptors this year and then get a No. 11 overall pick from the Bulls next year out of a top-10 protection. – 3:20 PM
