ODI World Cup 2019 Teams: Full squads of all the ICC Cricket World Cup 2019 teams
Top two ranked teams in the ICC ODI rankings, India and England enter this tournament as favourites. While India boast of a really talented group of players, hosts England are enjoying probably their best phase in limited overs Cricket. Australia who have had a tricky two years heading into the World Cup, still has an outside chance as the players look to have found some kind of form before the tournament. West Indies and Pakistan with their superior tournament record can always pose a threat while teams like South Africa and New Zealand hope to give their all. Bangladesh, Afghanistan and Sri Lanka are the underdogs of the tournament and will be determined to create some upsets in their attempt to go a long way in the tournament. Here’s a look at all the teams at the Cricket World Cup 2019
1. England
Hosts England are also one of the favourites to lift the trophy this year. In what will be their maiden World Cup triumph — if they manage to win that is — England are powered by a really strong batting line-up with the likes of Jason Roy, Joe Root, Jonny Bairstow and Jos Buttler at the peak of their career.
2. India
Another favourite to win the tournament, India are a really strong team as they travel to England. Their record in England may not be that impressive but India has the best batsman and the best bowler in the World in Virat Kohli and Jasprit Bumrah who could play a key role in India lifting its third World Cup trophy.
3. Australia
Defending champions Australia may have had a tough few months in the last year, but the Aussies have made a good comeback in 2019 and won back-to-back away ODI series against India and Pakistan and are in good touch before the World Cup. The arrival of David Warner and Steve Smith will definitely prove vital for the five-time champions.
4. South Africa
Although they may look a little undercooked heading into the World Cup, there is no doubt that South Africa are a formidable side. With the experience of Faf du Plessis and Dale Steyn, South Africa could have a really successful tournament if all of their players really click together.
5. New Zealand
New Zealand surprised everyone in the last edition of the World Cup when they qualified for the finals at the back of a few impressive performances. Although they were disappointed to not go all the way, Skipper Kane Williamson and Co. will be determined to go one step further this year.
6. West Indies
West Indies are always unpredictable. They always have been. While they haven’t played many games in the last two years, their recent ODI series against England will definitely shower some optimism in the Windies camp. Chris Gayle looks like he’s getting better and better and with young talents like Shimron Hetmyer and Shai Hope performing to their potential, West Indies could be the surprise package this year.
7. Pakistan
8. Bangladesh
9. Afghanistan
Afghanistan are the ultimate underdogs of the tournament. The fact that Afghanistan is the lowest ranked team in the World Cup makes this tournament really open because this Afghanistan team can beat any side on their day, but it will take more than just one good day for Afghanistan to succeed in the World Cup. But we can definitely see them upsetting some of the big boys of the tournament.
10. Sri Lanka
