NFL Network compared Xavier Worthy's record-setting 40 time against Patrick Mahomes and fans thought it was hilarious
NFL Network can't stop mocking Mahomes.
Texas wide receiver Xavier Worthy went into the NFL combine as the heavy favorite to run the fastest 40-yard dash out of this draft class. He not only accomplished that on Saturday, but he also broke John Ross’ record for the fastest 40 time in combine history at 4.21 seconds.
Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes, on the other hand, does not rank among the combine leaderboard. And of course, NFL Network had to remind everyone of that.
Ahead of the NFL combine, Mahomes kindly asked NFL Network to refrain from using his 4.80-second 40 time as an overlay against this year’s draft class. NFL Network saw that tweet and opted instead to compare Mahomes to defensive linemen. The broadcast wasn’t done, though. After Worthy’s record-setting time, they had to bring the Mahomes overlay back.
We're really sorry about this one, @PatrickMahomes @XavierWorthy

“Will he even be in the frame at the end is the question.”
The answer to that question was no. Mahomes would leave the frame at around the 30-yard mark. Worthy’s speed was truly next level.
Still, fans could not get enough of seeing Mahomes’ 40 time get the overlay treatment. That was just mean.
