The NFL continues to make MLB look silly and irrelevant

Today is March 9th and in any other year we’d spend the day by checking out some spring training games on TV while getting ready for the start of another baseball season.
But that’s not happening today because MLB owners are continuing to show everyone just how much they hate baseball and are trying to find more ways to make more money than their players while not giving the fans what they want.
Good times!
You know what else is happening? The NFL is taking over the headlines, grabbing all the attention, and making baseball even more irrelevant in the process.
Look at what happened yesterday – huge news about two of the biggest QBs in the NFL sent the sports world into a tizzy. First we found out that Aaron Rodgers is sticking with the Packers and then we had a huge surprise when we learned the Seahawks were trading Russell Wilson to the Broncos.
It was a bonkers day for the NFL. What’s even more bonkers is there isn’t a real NFL game for like another six months. Football on the field is so far away from us but football in our lives is right there just about every day with some new big news breaking all the time.
It’s amazing, fun, wild, unpredictable and glorious!
Baseball, meanwhile, is talking about making the bases bigger and maybe doing away with the shift.
Zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz.
Sorry, I feel asleep there for a second thinking about dumb baseball.
The longer this lockout goes the more damage baseball will be doing to itself on a daily basis. Less and less people are caring about it with each passing day, which isn’t good for business.
Football, on the other hand, just had lots of people paying attention to its silly combine where guys ran 3-cone drills and got their hands measured. I mean, that is some really weird stuff but NFL fans happily ate it up!
Baseball has nothing to eat up. Baseball right now is like that continental breakfast at a cheap hotel that is offering one random bruised pear and a muffin that could be anything and was likely made weeks ago.
Football, meanwhile, is like that fancy hotel breakfast that has an omelette station with a chef happily asking you what do you want in your delicious omelette. Who doesn’t love the omelette station?
Baseball is becoming a joke and the owners need to cut it out and get the sport going again. Like, today.
If not, we’ll all just forget about it and keep watching the daily soap opera called football.
