Bradley Beal's missed layups were pretty awful, but they were even worse for first half bettors
If you took the first half over, look away.
It’s no big deal that Bradley Beal missed a layup (or two) in the first half of Wednesday’s game against the Boston Celtics, right?
It was just an honest mistake by a player who makes that shot nine out of 10 times, someone who has averaged over 30 points per game the last two seasons. And his Washington Wizards still held a 10 point lead going into halftime.
Sure, no big deal. That is unless you bet the over on a 114.5 first half total.

Beal’s misses weren’t too costly for the Wizards, who held on to beat the Celtics 116-107. But with the score 62-52, a total of 114, they definitely made a few bettors sick to their stomachs — and maybe a few others, who bet the under, extremely happy.
