Trae Young took a bow and waved goodbye to Knicks fans after Hawks eliminated New York
What a way to end the series.
It’s been a physical, trash-talk filled series between the New York Knicks and Atlanta Hawks.
And now it’s over.
In Game 5 of their opening-round NBA playoffs series, the Hawks emerged victorious at Madison Square Garden, where Trae Young mocked the crowd that delivered expletive-filled chants aimed at him, where one fan spit at him and where, on Wednesday night, he delivered a 36-point, nine-assist performance.
That included a late three that put away a game that was already pretty much out of reach. It was then that Young turned around, took a bow and waved goodbye to MSG … while fans were in the middle of applauding the Knicks as their season ended.
That’s as good of a dagger as it gets:

Oh Trae Young…the Knicks fans were giving their team a standing ovation and Ice Trae goes on and hits a deep three and then bows to them. #NewYorkForever x #BelieveAtlanta pic.twitter.com/kO3FKXyMrh

Ouch. But the way Young played? He earned that and then some.
