Roger Goodell brought his comfy chair from his basement to the 2021 NFL draft
Seriously!
Well here’s a quirky thing that you’ll see on Thursday night and perhaps beyond at the 2021 NFL draft: the comfy chair that Roger Goodell sat in his basement to call names out during last year’s draft will be there in Cleveland.
Why? I don’t know! But it’s kind of funny!
I guess it’s bringing a piece of last year’s draft like no other to the live version, but according to Goodell — who sat in it while speaking to Michael Strahan on Good Morning America — you’re going to see The Chair a bunch, with fans sitting in it on Thursday night:
.@ABC NEWS EXCLUSIVE: @MichaelStrahan talks to @nflcommish Roger Goodell ahead of tonight’s #NFLDraft. https://t.co/Pz4T0fzSKk pic.twitter.com/QqlxKHu123

This isn’t the first time we’ve heard chair-related news:
From @NFLTotalAccess last night: While Cleveland gets set up for the return of an in-person draft, worth noting that Roger Goodell's chair is making its way here. pic.twitter.com/xH8Q1Bt43A

Remember the chair that NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell sat in while in his basement during the draft last year? Turns out… that chair is headed to Cleveland! Maybe it’ll be backstage… and could turn up elsewhere throughout the week.

I’ve already seen jokes and there will no doubt be plenty more:
Roger Goodell's chair's draft stock falling rapidly over character concerns.

Ian, all I think about is the chair that Roger Goodell sat in last year.
It consumes my thoughts. It hounds me. https://t.co/SpIPWh1Eiz

My sources are also telling me this about the chair. Particularly the part about how it could "turn up elsewhere" during the week. At this point I would be very surprised if it didn't. https://t.co/rmSXOKsieH

Who told the nfl that goodell’s chair is a thing?
