Alabama (4 times) leads college football's national champions of the 2010s
Nick Saban and the Crimson Tide had quite the decade.
LSU, Ohio State, Clemson or Oklahoma will be the 2019-20 national champion in a couple weeks, but first, they have to face off against each other. LSU and Oklahoma play first on Saturday in the Peach Bowl at 4 p.m. ET, and then Ohio State takes on defending champ Clemson in the Fiesta Bowl at 8 p.m. ET. Both games are on ESPN.
This season’s national champion will be the last of the decade, joining a solid list of impressive past winners of the 2010s.
Should Clemson win, it will be the Tigers’ third title in four seasons, while a win for the Buckeyes would be their second national championship this decade. But it’s been a while for LSU, which last won in 2007, and Oklahoma, which was the 2000 champion.
Here are college football’s national champions of the 2010s — so far, because even though the title game is in January 2020, the winning team still closes out the decade — with Alabama leading the way. The Crimson Tide, though they’re not competing for one this year, won four championships in the last 10 years.
