YouTube time traveler says he saw a dinosaur—in the future

He has quite a tale to tell.

The ApexTV YouTube channel has compelled more than one million people to subscribe by showcasing supposed time travelers who tell their tales of what the future holds for us or to show off jewelry they’ve brought back from the past.

It’s unusual for the past to intersect so blatantly with the future. But in ApexTV’s latest offering, it interviews a man who says he traveled 300 years into the future and encountered a dinosaur. The man calls himself Roman, and he said he’s in Serbia. His face is pixelated and his voice is modified, which is not unusual for those who appear on this channel. Like most everybody else who is interviewed, he said he worked for a secret organization—in this case, it’s called Oklo—that participates in time travel.

For his journey, he said he traveled to 2300 with seven other members of his organization to “see a robotic future, a generation of high technology.” Instead, they were surprised to find grass covering nearly everything—formerly paved roads, houses, and cars.

Then…

“Suddenly we heard a loud roar,” Roman said. “When we turned back, we saw a mystical giant.”

The unspecified dinosaur gave an earth-shattering roar and the Oklo employees ran in terror. Roman said the voice of a man called out to them and offered for them to hide in his shelter. Though Oklo employees were not allowed to have contact with people in the future, they accepted the man’s offer because they were in survival mode.

While drinking fresh tea and eating meat in the safety of the shelter, Roman said the man told them the story of the reemerged dinosaurs—which went extinct about 65 million years ago. In 2145, Roman was told, humans began cloning dinosaurs, and within five years, dino-zoos were a feature in almost every country on earth (except, for some reason, in Australia).

Perhaps people in the future haven’t seen Jurassic Park, because, unsurprisingly, this ended badly. Roman said that within six months, “everything crashed” and all the dinosaurs escaped. Which is apparently why dinosaurs ruled the earth in 2300.

With that, Roman ended his video without telling how his group of eight returned to the present time or what could be done about the dinosaur problem.

But, like most of the videos on the channel, it’s a fun story. Even if it seems completely implausible, who wouldn’t want to hear about dinosaurs making their triumphant return in the future? There is, after all, a whole movie franchise about it.
