Cromwell house fire sends one person to hospital
One person was taken to the hospital after fire crews searched a Cromwell home on Sunday.
One person was taken to the hospital following a house fire in Cromwell on Sunday.
Firefighters just after 12:30 p.m. responded to a home at 681 Main St. upon receiving multiple calls about smoke coming from the residence and were on the scene in less than five minutes, finding smoke pushing out from the front, side and back of the house, according to the Cromwell Fire Department.
Fire crews worked simultaneously to search the home while others established a water supply to put out the blaze, fire officials said. Crews on duty were assisted by volunteers and mutual aid from area fire departments.
According to fire officials, one person was in the home during the fire and was taken to an area hospital for injuries not considered life-threatening.
The cause of the fire is under investigation by the Cromwell Fire Marshal.
