The 29-year-old has had a fine career in the Bundesliga with both Bayer Leverkusen and current club Dortmund, and it would be exciting to see what he could do in the Premier League.
According to journalist Ekrem Konur, Arsenal are among Brandt’s suitors for this summer, along with West Ham, Aston Villa, Roma, and Fenerbahce.
See below for details as a decision should come at the end of the season, which is not too far away now…

Brandt has ten goals and four assists in his last 38 games for Dortmund, so although there are perhaps better options out there, he’s a very decent option for clubs to consider as a free agent.
Julian Brandt to Arsenal transfer could work but shouldn’t be a priority
See below for our Brandt to Arsenal Transfer Fit score, as we took a look at his recent form, age, and cost to weigh up if he’s really right for the Gunners…

Overall, we gave Brandt a 13/25, which is pretty much smack bang in the middle MEDIUM.
There’s surely some sense in AFC looking at the German playmaker as one option to give them more depth, but even if he’d be cheap, he wouldn’t be a long-term option and there are surely better players out there.
It’s also debatable if Arsenal need more attacking options when they already have the likes of Bukayo Saka, Leandro Trossard, Gabriel Martinelli, Eberechi Eze, and Noni Madueke all competing in that position.
There’s also up-and-coming Arsenal wonderkid Max Dowman, and it would be a shame for a young player’s progress to be blocked by someone whose best years are surely behind him.
Brandt might be an interesting market opportunity, but if Arsenal are to make changes in attack it surely needs to be for someone who’s a meaningful upgrade on what they already have.
