Liverpool set to compete with Man United for €80m-rated “future defensive leader”
Liverpool are interested in signing the Newcastle United defender Malick Thiaw.

According to Fussball Daten, Liverpool are considering him as their top priority to replace Ibrahima Konate. The French international will be out of contract in the summer, and he has not signed an extension with Liverpool yet.
They are not the only club interested in the German, and Thiaw is also a target for Manchester United. On the other hand, German champions Bayern Munich are already exploring a potential move, and they have been in contact with the players’ representatives. It will be interesting to see which of these clubs comes forward with an official offer to sign him.
The defender is valued at €80 million. Newcastle will not want to sell him easily, and it is no surprise that they are holding out for a premium. It remains to be seen whether Liverpool is prepared to pay up for him.
