IRFU- Return to Rugby
Currently, there are stringent guidelines in place regarding return to training. We at Banbridge RFC hope to provide clarity on current guidance and why we do not yet plan to recommence senior training. Return to Rifle Park is as yet TBC but we will update you as soon as possible, once we receive more information from NI Executive allowing use of a rugby ball, passing between players. Please see below for the current guidance and restrictions.
All individuals attending the club will be required to complete a self-declaration form by 5pm each training day.
Players are to arrive at the club no earlier than 15 mins prior to commencement of training.
All individuals will be screened at the gate by a compliance officer to confirm completion of self-declaration form and receive a contactless temperature check. If form has not been completed or a high temperature recorded you will be turned away.
Everyone will be supplied with and required to use hand sanitiser on entry to club grounds.
Everyone must come dressed ready for training. The clubhouse/changing rooms will not be available.
Training will last 45-60 mins. It will be pods of 8 players with a coach and compliance officer.
You will not be able to have contact with players from other pods.
Social distancing (2m) must be maintained by each player in the pod, unless from the same household.
You will not be able to complete drills with a ball, as it must not be passed between players.
Advice from compliance officers must be adhered to.
Once training is over, each pod must go directly back to their car and exit the grounds, you are unable to socialise prior to or after training.
Physiotherapy will not be available for face to face sessions, as per NHS guidance. Hannah will be contactable via phone for players seeking advice/assessment.
A first aid representative will be present for each session, in PPE, to assist should injuries occur.
The bar will remain closed until further notice.
The gym will remain closed until further notice.
Due to these restrictions, we do not feel it is suitable to return to training just yet. It is our priority to ensure the safety of all our members and visitors and so we will provide an update following clear advice from the NI Executive.
