Baku's steps leading Azerbaijan to International Criminal Court, Francois Rochebloine says
The France-Karabakh Friendship Circle condemns the escalation in the Karabakh conflict zone, expresses it support to the OSCE Minsk Group Co- Chairs' efforts towards peaceful settlement of the conflict and urges the Co-Chairs to strongly condemn Baku's steps aimed at escalating the tension on the Armenian-Azerbaijani border and on the line of contact of the Nagorno-Karabakh and Azerbaijani troops, as well as to increase the pressure on the dictatorial regime of Ilham Aliyev.
In the Friendship Circle's statement sent to ArmInfo, the French lawmakers say that on the threshold of the meeting with Serzh Sargsyan, which is scheduled for Dec 19 in Bern, Switzerland, Ilham Aliyev initiated numerous provocations and sabotage attacks that resulted in human deaths.
Chairman of the France-Karabakh Friendship Circle, French lawmaker Francois Rochebloine says that if the OSCE Minsk Group wants to keep inspiring confidence, it should strictly condemn Azerbaijan's actions and make Baku understand that its further provocations are leading Azerbaijan directly to the International Criminal Court. To equalize the aggressor and the victim means to support the aggressor, the French MP says.
He thinks that the OSCE Minsk Group should force Azerbaijan to accept the proposal concerning creation of mechanisms to investigate the ceasefire violations and to withdraw the snipers from the line of contact. The French MP recalls that the Armenian side has accepted these proposals, while Baku keeps boycotting them.
To note, the France-Karabakh Friendship Circle was set up in 2013. It includes nearly 50 influential French politicians.
