Court hearing on case of Azerbaijani who illegally crossed state border to be held in Stepanavan on November 2
The general jurisdiction court of Stepanavan (Lori province, Armenia) will start the hearing on the case of Turgay Mikailov (born in 1980), Georgian citizen of Azerbaijani descent, who is charged will illegal crossing of the state border of Armenia.
The Armenian Justice Ministry's website reports that the hearing will be held on November 2 at 3:30 pm. Mikailov is charged with illegal crossing of the Armenian-Georgian state border (Article 329 Part 1 of the Armenian Criminal Code).
To recall, on July 23, around 9 pm local time, Mikailov passed by the frontier posts and crossed the Armenian-Georgian border near Dzyunashogh village of Lori province on foot. Under the Armenian legislation, Mikailov may face up to 3 years in jail or a fine of 100 thsd AMD.
