The draft constitutional reforms are a step forward towards protection of the national minorities' rights, Siaband Bakoyan, representative of the Yazidi community of Armenia, member of the Council for Coordination of Activities of National-Cultural Organizations of the National Minorities of Armenia, said at a press conference in Yerevan on Friday.
He said the reforms envisage parliamentary seats for the national minorities, which is already a positive change. He urges the Yazidi community of Armenia to vote for the reforms.
Head of the Yazidi community in Armenia Aziz Tamoyan, in turn, noted that it is the largest community in the country (nearly 40,000 Yazidis), subsequently, a representative of the Yazidi community must represent the national minorities' interests in the Parliament.
