Armenia’s 1000 largest corporate taxpayers paid over 174.9 billion drams in taxes in quarter one 2017
Armenia’s 1000 largest corporate taxpayers paid over 174.9 billion drams in various taxes in the first three months of 2017, up 11.7% or 18.4 billion drams from the first quarter of 2016, the State Revenue Committee said.
Of that amount about 133 billion drams were collected by tax authorities, and about 41.9 billion drams by customs authorities. At the same time, about 57.8 billion drams were collected as direct taxes (income tax, personal income tax), about 94.7 billion drams were collected as indirect taxes, including VAT and excise taxes, and 22.3 billion drams as other taxes and duties.
Tax revenues paid by the 1000 largest taxpayers made 68.5% of the total amount of taxes and duties collected in the first quarter. The total amount of taxes and duties amounted to more than 255.2 billion drams, an increase of 10.6% from the year before.
According to official data, the national gas distribution company Gazprom Armenia was the largest taxpayer having paid more than 16.8 billion drams against, up from 15.6 billion drams paid for the same period in 2016. Grand Tobacco, which paid 5.47 billion drams (an increase of 87.3%) was second. Third was Zangezur Copper and Molybdenum Combine, which paid 4.7 billion drams as taxes and duties against 1.99 billion drams paid in the first quarter of 2016. Alex Holding was fourth having paid about 4.49 billion drams against 3.3 billion drams in the first quarter of 2016 and the Armenian Electric Networks was fifth, having paid about 4.1 billion drams in taxes against 4 billion drams paid for the same period in 2016.
The list of the top 10 largest tax-payers also included CPS OIL CORPORATION (3.4 billion drams), Kapan Mining Plant (3 billion drams), Armenian Nuclear Power Plant (2.5 billion drams), Philip Morris Armenia (2.34 billion drams) and International Masis Tabak (2.33 billion drams).
