Armenian parliament ratifies agreements to avoid double taxation with Belarus, Germany, India and Sweden
Armenian Parliament at a meeting on Tuesday ratified a number of agreements on the avoidance of double taxation and prevention of evasion of taxation with respect to taxes on property and income with Belarus, Germany, India and Sweden.
According to Deputy Minister of Finance Armen Hayrapetyan, the main purpose of the agreements is to avoid repeated taxation with respect to business entities, which would eliminate the possible obstacles to their work, as well as create a favorable and predictable tax field for honest taxpayers.
The agreement with Belarus was signed on 19th of May 2016 in Yerevan. A similar agreement with Germany was signed on 29 June 2016 in Yerevan, with India – on January 27, 2016 in New Delhi, and with Sweden – on January 9, 2016 in Yerevan.
"Armenia has signed similar agreements with 43 states and are mainly aimed at the development of economic relations with all the partners," - said the deputy minister.
These states are all the European countries, except for Portugal, CIS countries, as well as Georgia, Canada, Sweden, Thailand, China, India, Iran, Lebanon, the UAE, Kuwait and other countries. -0-
