New tax code to be put on Armenian National Assembly’s floor
The National Assembly of Armenia is embarking on discussion of changes in the government composition, Novosti-Armenia reports.
The agenda consists of 22 issues, including structural changes in the government and a new tax code, which will be presented at the second and the third final readings.
Some issues that have already been considered by the parliament and passed at the first reading are including in the agenda as well.
Levon Zurabyan, the head of the Armenian National Congress’ faction in the parliament, and Naira Zohrabyan, an MP from Prosperous Armenia party, made some remarks over the agenda saying too many issues were put together, while only one of them - changes in the government composition - should be considered.
Zurabyan also said that some MPs are involved in elections of local self-government institution and are absent from parliament sessions running now their election campaigns, and they are absent from the parliamentary discussion.
Zohrabyan, on her side, sharing Zurabyan’s opinion, said the new tax code passage is a serious step and the document should be discussed in details.
Galust Sahakyan, the National Assembly speaker, however, objected the MPs saying that all the issues will be put on the National Assembly’s floor in accordance with the regulations and that local election can’t be a reason for postponing parliamentary sessions. --0----
