Sargsyan – Putin meeting was productive
The meeting of Armenian and Russian presidents Serzh Sargsyan and Vladimir Putin, held yesterday in Moscow, was quite productive, Gagik Melikyan, the secretary of the Republican Party of Armenia’s parliamentary faction, said today.
According to Melikyan, the presidents discussed a string of serious issues which are expected to deepen the strategic relationship between the two countries. In particular, new and long-term prospects not only for economic but also military and industrial cooperation are opening up, he said.
Regarding Putin’s comments that there are ‘ problems of objective nature" in Armenian-Russian relations Melikyan said Putin meant the economic cooperation.
"Armenia also cooperates with Europe and we have serious opportunities in the implementation of free trade. Armenia is one of the few countries enjoying GSP +. Perhaps, "the objective problems" are related to it, in particular with the establishment of trade duties and their deadlines , "- he said. -0-
