Armenia’s economic activity index in January 2016 increases by 5.5% from 2015 January
According to the updated statistical data of the National Statistical Service (NSS), Armenia's economic activity index in January 2016 increased by 5.5% when compared to the same period of 2015.
NSS said consumer prices in January 2016 declined by 0.4% from the same period last year, while industrial products prices decreased by 6.3%. The industrial output in the reporting month was worth approximately 94.5 billion drams, a 15.7% rise form the year earlier.
The agricultural output amounted to more than 16 billion drams, a growth of 1.5% from 2015 January; construction sector grew by 5.1% to about 8. 3 billion drams; domestic trade declined by 2.7% to about 118 billion drams and services grew by 5.1% to about 89.3 billion drams.
Armenia’s foreign trade turnover by the end of January 2016 amounted to approximately $242.4 million, a decrease of approximately 13.8% when compared to 2015 January. The 2016 budget projects a 2.2% GDP growth. ($1 – 495.53 drams. -0-
