Armenia’s largest 1000 corporate taxpayers pay 18.8% more taxes in quarter one, 2019
Armenia’s largest 1000 corporate taxpayers paid more than 212.2 billion drams in various taxes in the first quarter of 2019, by 18.8% or 33.6 billion drams more than in the first quarter of 2018, according to numbers, released by the State Revenue Committee (SRC).
SRC said some 169.7 billion drams were collected by tax authorities and about 42.5 billion drams by the customs authorities. Also, some 22.9 billion drams were collected as income taxes, 45.4 billion drams as payroll taxes, 103 billion drams as VAT, 19.9 billion drams as excise taxes, and 20.8 billion drams were collected as other taxes and duties.
Taxes paid by the top 1000 taxpayers made 72.5% of all taxes and duties collected in the first three months of the year. Taxes and duties collection rate amounted to more than 292.6 billion drams, a year-on-year rise of 8%.
The largest corporate taxpayer in the first quarter was Gazprom Armenia national gas distribution company, which paid more than 13.6 billion drams, down from 13.9 billion drams it had paid in the first quarter of 2018. It was followed by Grand Tobacco company, which paid 12.8 billion drams, up from about 8 billion drams from the year before.
The third largest taxpayer was the Electric Networks of Armenia, which paid 4.6 billion drams, up from 2.6 billion drams in the first quarter of 2018. It was followed by International Masis Tabak, which paid about 3.9 billion drams, up from 2 billion drams paid in the first quarter of 2018. CPS OIL CORPORATION, which paid about 3.8 billion drams against 3.81 billion drams in the first quarter of 2018, was fifth.
The list of top 10 major taxpayers also included FLASH oil trader (3.6 billion drams), GeoProMining Gold (3.57 billion drams), Armenian NPP (2.9 billion drams), MaxPatrol (2.59 billion drams) and Armenian Mining Contractor (2.3 billion drams). ($ 1 - AMD 479.72). -0-
