Armenian Deputy Prime Minister Mher Grigoryan received today a delegation led by Bernard de Wit, head of Amundi's Business Monitoring and Control Division, the main shareholder of Amundi-ACBA Asset Management, one of the two private pension fund managing companies in Armenia.
The government press office said the meeting was also attended by Armenian Finance Minister Atom Janjugazyan, Labor and Social Affairs Minister Zaruhi Batoyan and Deputy Chairman of the Central Bank Nerses Yeritsyan.
After welcoming the guests, Mher Grigoryan congratulated Amundi-ACBA Asset Management on the 5th anniversary of its inception in Armenia saying the Armenian government is ready to develop cooperation with such a trustworthy partner.
Grigoryan emphasized the importance of the company’s involvement in the process of reforms in Armenia.
Bernard de Wit thanked for the reception, briefly presenting the company's activities. The sides were said to have agreed on the importance of creating a securities market for the development of the Armenia’s financial market. The sides stressed the need to raise awareness of the population about the funded pension system, calling it a top priority.
At the end of the meeting, the Deputy Prime Minister reiterated the government’s intention to expand cooperation, saying they are engaged in a highly responsible effort 'promising a major social, economic and financial impact.'
Amundy-ACBA ASSET MANAGEMENT was founded by the French company AMUNDI ASSET MANAGEMENT together with ACBA-CREDIT AGRICOLE BANK. Amundi controls 51 percent of the company's stake; the rest is controlled by ACBA-CREDIT AGRICOLE BANK.
