The coordinator of the program Ara Nazinyan noted during the program's launch that the EU will provide 40 million drams for raising awareness on energy efficiency among the citizens of Armenia.br

The program will embrace five regions of Armenia - Lori, Tavush, Gegharkunik, Kotayk and nbsp;Ararat - and will be aimed at informing the population about energy efficiency and energy saving technologies.br

He specified that public organizations specially selected for participation in the program will present the residents of these regions the advantages of energy-saving equipment, as well as the programs implemented in the country to finance and support energy efficiency.br
br
He also noted that the program does not envisage direct investment projects. Only financial assistance to the tune of 1 million drams is possible along with other investments and community participation.br
br
Vache Terteryan, the first deputy minister of territorial administration and development, noted that energy efficiency issues are very important for the Armenian communities, especially given the many programs available in this area, which many citizens are not even aware of.br
br
Through the implementation of the program, Armenian families will be able to cut their energy costs and channel the saved money into other expenditure, Terteryan said. He said if the program proves to be success, it will nbsp;be extended to other regions of the country as well. --0--br
