Armenian expert warns against buying Turkish produces

YEREVAN, April 3. /ARKA/. A long string of Turkish-made foods, removed from sale by many countries, continue to arrive freely in Armenia, David Pipoyan, an expert at the Center for Environmental nbsp;and Noospheric Studies of the National Academy of Sciences, told a press conference on Tuesday.br

He said Turkish products, including agricultural produces, confectionery, dried fruits, lemons and other fruits are freely imported to Armenia.br

Pipoyan noted that many Turkish goods do not have the appropriate labeling, although they contain a large number of food additives that are harmful to health, and therefore banned in many European countries.br

The expert also said that almost 130 Turkish goods were declared dangerous several days ago even in Azerbaijan. He strongly recommended that Armenian consumers abstain from buying Turkish products, especially containing food additives.br

Pipoyan also called on relevant government services of Armenia to carry out stricter monitoring of the local market in order to avoid what he called ‘sad consequences.’ -0-br
