Polish Simed Construction to build water reservoir in Armenia

Armenia’s State Water Committee, a division of the Ministry of Energy Infrastructures and Natural Resources and the Polish company Simed Construction signed today in Yerevan a memorandum of understanding to cooperate in the construction of water reservoirs, the government said. It said nbsp;Prime Minister of Armenia Karen Karapetyan was in attendance.nbsp;br

The document was signed by the chairman of the State Water Committee Arsen Harutyunyan and the executive director of nbsp;Simed Construction Boguslaw Sikorski.br

Prior to the signing ceremony, Karapetyan and Sikorski exchanged thoughts on bilateral cooperation. Karapetyan was said to have welcomed the arrival of the Simed Group in Armenia.br

You have a very smart and progressive team, because you have chosen the right time to come to the right country, he was quoted as saying. According to Karapetyan, the cooperation of the state and private sectors is very important for Armenian.br

We will be extremely flexible in shaping these relations, as we are interested in seeing this formula of cooperation spread in our country, he said.br

Sikorski was said to have underscored the importance to cooperation with the Armenian government and noted that the Simed Group represents several Polish companies, which implement such programs that the Prime Minister noted as priority.br

Cooperation with the Development Foundation of Armenia is very effective, and we see great opportunities for its continuation both in terms of building water reservoirs and in the energy sector, he stressed.br

Speaking about the development of partnership in the construction of reservoirs, Sikorski said the company plans to start work nbsp;in June 2018. He said tomorrow the company's representatives will go to Vedi, the site of a water reservoir under construction, nbsp;to get acquainted with the process and discuss further steps.br

Prime Minister Karapetyan stressed that the Armenian government is ready to stand next to each investor, including Simed Construction and to promote the implementation of joint programs. -0-br
