Armenian exports of fruits and vegetables grow to 78,000 tons
Armenia’s export of fruits and vegetables since the beginning of the year has amounted to 78,000 tons, deputy agriculture minister Robert Makaryan said today.
Speaking at a news conference he said the bulk of the products -74,000 tons- were exported to the Russian Federation - and 3,500 tons to Georgia. Some of the products were sold also to the United Arab Emirates, Belarus and Ukraine.
As for local canneries, they have bought so far 35,000 tons of fruits and vegetables, 3,000 tons more than last year at this time. He said purchase of fruits and vegetables goes on without serious problems. In 2016, Armenian export of fruits and vegetables amounted to 143 thousand tons, twice as much as in 2015. -0-
