One dead, 17 hurt in Durban taxi crash
A man was killed and 17 others were injured when a minibus taxi overturned on Durban’s Southern Freeway.

Rescue Care Paramedics spokesman Garrith Jamieson said the accident happened near the Quality Street offramp in Durban industrial area of Jacobs.
“A fully laden taxi somehow lost control and collided with the barriers before overturning and coming to a rest in its side,” he said.
The man, believed to be in his 30s, had succumbed to his injuries before paramedics arrived at the accident scene.
Seventeen passengers sustained injuries ranging from minor to serious and were taken to various hospitals in the city.
The reason for the taxi overturning were not known and police were investigating.
