Good news: Chibok girls soon to be rescued in Sambisa - Defence headquarters

The Nigerian Army says it is close to rescuing the Chibok girls.
The Defence Headquarters has said the operation against Boko Haram insurgents in the Sambisa forest will only end after Chibok girls and others captives of the terrorists have been rescued.

The director of defence information, Brig.-Gen. Rabe Abubakar who disclosed this on Sunday, December 25, noted that the Nigerian Army is close to rescuing the Chibok girls and other captives from the Sambisa forest, Daily Post reports.
He said: “We should allow for calm in this operation, which is still ongoing. We have yet to come to point zero. We have taken over the heart and the centre of Sambisa.
“The operation will culminate with Operation Rescue Finale which will end only when all the captives, including the Chibok girls have been rescued, and this would be soon.

However, the defence spokesperson said in order not to jeopardise the on-going rescue operation, there were things that would not be disclosed to the public.
Meanwhile, the Nigerian Army has arrested a white man among Boko Haram insurgents in the Sambisa Forest.
According to the Nigerian Television Authority (NTA), a soldier, who took part in the operation that liberated Sambisa Forest said the foreigner whose nationality has not been disclosed, was arrested inside the forest on Thursday, December 22, when troops cleared Boko Haram insurgents out of their last fortress.
The soldier who made the disclosure on Sunday, December 25, said hundreds of Boko Haram fighters were killed during the offensive that began about a month ago.
The source added that many others were captured alive while attempting to flee.
